Spring Is Like a Young, Wonderful Woman
SPRING IS LIKE A YOUNG, WONDERFUL WOMAN
In 1990 I staged a poetry, music and dance program in Fairfield, IA, featuring and reciting 10 of my own poems with keyboard accompaniment and 30 dancers in different formations and groups, choreographed by semi-professional dancers.
This poem was danced by Nancy Williams, Chantal Schunselaar, Carol Morehead and myself. Music on piano and synthesizers composed and performed by Nathanael Zumstein. Choreography by Gretchen Schaffer.
The elusive and, at the same time, eternal qualities of spring whirl and dance around me, filling me with exquisite joy and a longing for immortality.
